The starter motor is acting up on my 240d, then miraculously this video gets released on the 25th. Whoa.

I Have been reading up on how to change it, and everywhere has been telling me the bolts can be a pain in the ass, but otherwise fairly easy and straightforward. Looks like my 1/2" drive inventory will be seeing some new items.

you can lower the trans a bit. That's the best way on old SL's, those 240's were set up similar if I recall

Thanks.

It looks like all I have to do is remove the battery tray to access it. People say it makes it easier to get to if you lift the engine a bit, which I may attempt since it could use new mounts. I've never done anything like that before, so I've got some more reading to do.

yeah you can to that fron the front with a jack and wood block but you could tear the mounts. Those dang mount are usually bad but the expensive news actuall do last a good while
